One of the brothers, Cameron, has been found dead at the remote\nStockman\u2019s Grave site, leaving his vital lifeline \u2013 his yute \u2013 some distance\nfrom where his body was found. It makes no sense; an experienced farmer, he\nwould never venture on foot into the dangerous heat without supplies and water.\nIt breaks every rule that they\u2019ve been taught. So what\u2019s happened?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The story is told from the perspective of another of the\nbrothers, Nathan, who lives alone on his farm, struggling to make ends meet,\nseparated from his wife, and only occasionally seeing his son who lives hours\naway in the city. He\u2019s even separated from the local town, after an incident\nyears earlier saw him shunned by the locals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Harper paints an incredible picture of the harsh reality of\nlife in this remote part of the world, where nothing can be taken for granted,\nand things like food, water, power or internet access can be limited and to be\ntreated seriously. This is an environment where you have to carry spare\nsupplies in your vehicle whenever you go anywhere. It all feels incredibly\nreal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Set amidst all this is a delicious story of families and\nrecent history, all told and structured beautifully.
