He was 66 and on his way to a holiday in Ireland. Paul Foot was one of those journalists you can only respect &#8211; he believed wholeheartedly in Socialism and wrote it as he saw it.<br \/>\nThere are plenty of obituaries scattered around on the web such as <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/uk\/3906833.stm\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/politics.guardian.co.uk\/media\/story\/0,12123,1264589,00.html\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/news.independent.co.uk\/uk\/politics\/story.jsp?story=542433\">here<\/a> (also, not linked here, but Tam Dalyell has fine obituary in Tuesday&#8217;s Independent).
