I had an idea of what this was like from things like <a href=\"http:\/\/us.imdb.com\/Title?0094562\">Tanner &#8217;88 <\/a>(one of my favourite ever political TV programmes), and Primary Colors, but this really did flesh the press pack out a little.  It is scary how easily someone very personable like Bush can effectively nullify a liberal press pack.  I dislike Bush as a president intently, yet you can&#8217;t help but think he&#8217;s a &#8220;nice guy&#8221; from this portrait &#8211; well as long as you don&#8217;t dwell on things like his record on capital punishment&#8230;<br \/>\nAnyway, I shall be recording it for posterity on Tuesday when it gets repeated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By total accident, I caught this programme on BBC4 last night, and was very glad that I did.
