Very sad news about Christopher Reeve today. Only last week, I dug out my old Superman bubble gum cards from the first film. That series was nearly as popular as Star Wars with my brother and I when we were younger. And I still struggle to recall what the fatal flaw with the plan that Richard Pryor cooked up in Superman III to rip off his bank (he realises that everytime the bank pays interest on an account, there are fractions of cents left over. He simply funnels those fractions of cents into his account where they soon mount up into sizeable quantities).
What I hadn’t realised was the possible impact Reeve’s death might have on the US elections; in particular the support he was giving to stem cell research while Bush is very much anti it.
